Emergence

Tulip poplars beginning to leaf out in our woods

In the dark of winter, life rests. In the dark of night in early spring, life stirs. At dawn in late March the sun beams over the horizon and illuminates the rising of life, the rebirth, the emergence. Even as the flowers and insects hinted that spring was coming, we held our breaths, waiting, wondering, wishing. And then one morning it seemed that everything came to life at once – bright and colorful and proud. Tiny leaves, beautiful flowers, fluttering butterflies everywhere we look.

Welcome back. Hello spring. Thank you for coming around again to lift us gently out of our slumber and into the light of a new season. Teaching us that life persists, circles around, goes through changes and stages, ends and begins again.

To spring.

To life.

To light and love.

  1. Yes! Here’s to this beautiful, seemingly surprising, emergence! Love your photos. Thank you.

  2. Beautiful as always. Looks lush and alive, ready to provide another glorious spring. But… we received a foot of snow last night, so spring here is still ways away 😊😊

    • I’m sure you are happy about the snow, if not the timing. Spring is under there, ready to emerge when the time is right. Thank you for reading and sharing…
