Day 354 of #LiveWell2017
“Art touches the soul… art is communication… it reaches out from the canvas and passes through the eyes of the viewer right into his heart where it can leave an imprint of beauty that can make the spirit sing.” – Nina Baldwin
Here’s another fun way to give that also can help support a local, independent artist.
Find your nearest craft fair, art show, independent gallery. Visit a local potter. Participate in an Open Studio tour. Support your local artists and give the gift of art. If you’re not sure how to find a local artist, check with your state’s Arts Council or your nearest college or university art program or museum. You can give a gift of artwork and support a local artist at the same time.
As a minimalist who really loves art, but doesn’t necessarily want another object in my possession, one of my favorite things to do is walk through the art museum just to see and appreciate what is on display. If you know someone like that and you don’t want to purchase art, but still want to give the gift of art, consider tickets to a local art museum, opening, or art fair, or surprise them with a tour of murals and street art in your town.
Art is a beautiful gift.
