Day 208 of #LiveWell2017
Day 3 of practicing Elementary School Rules.
This is an elementary school rule that touches my heart, but it’s pretty broad and encompassing. There are a lot of lessons that can be squeezed out of this simple phrase, like what does it mean to hurt someone on the inside? How can we act so that we are kind and loving and don’t cause hurt? Sometimes we cause hurt when we don’t want to. It happens.
But, for today, let’s be as conscientious as we can about what we do and say. Let’s be aware and mindful of not causing harm or hurt to any living thing on the inside or the outside. For most of us, causing physical harm is not something we do mindlessly or regularly. But the emotional hurt is often hidden and we may inflict it more than we realize – by criticizing, ignoring, or saying something without thinking it through. Be yourself, but be more aware of how you are treating people, online, offline, in-person, on the phone, and in your heart.
Don’t hurt others on the inside or the outside. Let’s practice together.
