Day 167 of #LiveWell2017
Continuing with the gratitude theme this month, I want to be sure to share my gratitude for silence (and birds). This week we traveled to some remote wilderness areas. There, hiking among the high desert mountains, I was grateful for the complete absence of human sounds. In that silence, sitting in the wild country, the birds sang louder, the wind blew stronger, the insects buzzed more often. Becoming part of the silence, being still, being present, magnified the wildness of the wilderness.
We heard and saw a lot of birds in that silence…hawks, eagles, ravens, songbirds, ducks and geese, and this very vocal Wilson’s snipe.
What have you heard in the silence lately?
In silence i feel healing and love. Healing happens in just being away from all the sounds of daily life. Love is felt from all the creatures and forms of nature that are found in the silence of the great outdoors. Silence is so powerful. It’s a gift. I know there are some who can’t enjoy silence, i wished all could know the joy!
So true. Silence is a beautiful gift.
