Day 107 of #LiveWell2017
These days there is no easier way to give than by the click of a mouse or the touch of a finger to a screen. Giving can be automated through recurring donations to your favorite charity or made easy by the click of a “Take Action” button on an activist website. Here are some of the easiest ways to give online.
Amazon Smile – sign up and use this browser extension to make your purchases on Amazon.com. You choose your charity, and each time you buy something using Amazon Smile (instead of amazon.com), they donate to your charity.
Free Rice – Answer easy questions correctly, and they donate 10 grains of rice per answer to the World Food Programme.
The Hunger Site – one click on their “Click here to give food” button. It’s free.
CharityUSA gives 100% of its donations to its nonprofit arm, GreaterGood, which provides grants to nonprofits like Mercy Corp.
There are many more, but these are fairly well-known and they all do good work. Always check the legitimacy of an organization, and inquire about how much of its donations are used for programs versus administration and fundraising. A good place to check that is at Guidestar.
