Day 106 of #LiveWell2017
There are a lot of great books that can inspire us to be more generous. Here are five of my favorites. I encourage you to read them, and get inspired to give.
Children’s books
The Quiltmaker’s Gift by Jeff Brumbeau and Gail de Marken – this is by far my favorite kid’s book about giving, because it is also about letting go. The story is engaging and the artwork is brilliant. Adults will love it, too.
The Rainbow Fish by Marcus Pfister – another beautifully illustrated book about a fish who learns to make friends by giving.
A Kid’s Guide to Giving by Freddi Zeiler – a nonfiction book that teaches kids how to be generous.
Books for adults and older kids
How to Be an Everyday Philanthropist by Nicole Bouchard Boles – this is a favorite of mine, dog-eared and worn from use. Boles lays out specific ways to be generous every day, without spending money.
Giving by Bill Clinton – before all the scandal around his foundation, Bill Clinton wrote a remarkable book about the power of giving.
