Give with your body

Day 103 of #LiveWell2017

Day 103 give with body

One of the most fun ways to be generous is to run, walk, or bike for a cause. It’s also a great way to stay in shape and to meet new people. The first time I participated in a charity run was in 2010 at the St. Petersburg Women’s Half Marathon. Since then, I’ve made it a point to participate in at least one charity race every year.

One of my favorite events was the Ride for Hope benefiting Joanne’s House at Hope Hospice in Bonita Springs, FL, but I’ve also enjoyed the 4KforCharity Fun Run benefiting technology programs at Rosemary Anderson High School in Portland OR, and the PDX Shamrock Run benefiting Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

If running, walking, or biking is your thing, here are some links to help you  locate charity events:

Bicycle Rides for Charity

Active.com search tool for charitable runs/walks

Runner’s World has a race finder here

Have you done a run or walk or ride for charity? Which one and where?

What other charitable physical events do you recommend?
