Be generous: volunteer.

Day 14 of #LiveWell2017

One of the highlights of my week is going to the Children’s Book Bank to sort gently used books that will eventually end up in the hands of kids who don’t have many (if any) books to call their own. It’s a simple job that takes just a few hours of my time each week, but gives me great pleasure and a chance to help give back to my community. My small task is part of a large effort to improve the literacy and the lives of children who need it most.

There are a lot of great nonprofits and other organizations that need volunteers. Find one that you love in your community and see how you can help – even if it’s just for one day a year. It’s a fun and easy way to #CreateGoodness and #LiveWell in 2017.

Here’s a list of Oregon nonprofits that I love. There are hundreds in each community across the globe. Where do you like to volunteer?
