It’s spring here, and there are all sorts of birds nesting around our house at the moment. We’ve been listening to the cardinals and mockingbirds sing like there’s no tomorrow, the brown thrashers are constantly bringing food to a nest, and the swallow-tailed kites and snail kites keep working the backyard canal for treats…

Here’s one of two mourning dove nests (complete with two eggs) that we discovered this week. I’ll try to post more pics when they hatch (if a snake doesn’t find ’em first!).
